Does that mean you perform in musical theatre? Just curious 'cause I have done a bazillion shows myself... that's right, a bazillion.
Yeah, I do theater, musical and straight plays.
I haven't exactly done a bazillion, but in future time I could reach that number.
What shows have you been in?

Brendan: Well, it's better to be screwed collectively than individually.
Keri: So, you prefer orgies?
Oye... Lion in Wizard of Oz, Nicely-Nicley Johnson in Guys and Dolls, Pseudolous in Funnything Happened... Forum, Mr. Enoch Snow in Carousel, Robert Livingston in 1776, Bishop of Basingstoke in Jekyll and Hyde, Noah Claypole in Oliver, Judah in Joseph... Dreamcoat, Ted (Emcee) in Smile... and chorus in Oklahoma, Brigadoon, and Fiddler On the Roof. I can't remember anymore... lol. I haven't done any straight plays, yet. I have been wanting to do one but one that I wanted to be in hasn't presented itself. So, what have you done?
Well, I've done well... since recently, Lady in "Once Upon a Mattress", Fireman in "The Still Alarm, Hermia in "A Midsummer Nights Dream", Juba in "The Life of the Party", a Banshee in "Starmites", Marie in "On the Razzle", A Bird Girl in "Seussical", Ned in "Seeing the Light". Umm, thats it for now, but I'm about to Audition in "Les Mis", I'm really excited.
Yeah, like...3 of those are one acts, but they still count...right? :)

But, yeah, those are cool musicals, most of the one I've done arent exactly well know...

I prefer to do less known shows but I don't get the chance to often. Smile is relatively unknown.

I'd love to do Midsummer but no one around here does Shakespeare... the closest thing to it that they would do is Kiss Me, Kate. I live in a small town and I lack a car at the moment so I am limited to local stuff, and being that this area is very conservative it narrows the field even more.

Good luck with Les Mis, I'd love to do that one, too. Most of all I would love to do is Assassins, it's such a fantastic, dark, and quirky show... but then again it is by Sondheim, so those are a given.
Yeah, same.
I have heard of "Smile" though. We were going to do it once instead of Starmites, but then changed our mind.
So yeah, Midsummer was awesome. The girl who played Helena I had never met before, but we ended up becoming best friends.

Haha, I've never heard of that one, but it sounds interesting.
You are lucky you did Jeckyl and Hyde though, because I've always wanted to do that one!

Oh yeah, Jekyll was fun even though the director was an idiot. My favorite part was when I died... oh I loved that... I got beaten up and oh man did I get some nasty bruises. I even had to hit a high C in that with my chest voice... OYE! You probably know the part in one of the Facade songs... the part that goes "They're all in cahoots!" I've got a recording of me doing that somewhere around here.

I've made loads of good friends like that in shows around here... that's one of the best parts of doing a show.
Oh cool, I don't know, I have only heard part of the songs and jsut seen the music for the medly for choirs (I was trying to get us to do it, but nobody wants to...)
But that sounds so interesting.
Do you do theater professionally? because I just do it through highschool, and hopefully this summer at our community's theater.

Keri: So, you prefer orgies?
Umm... well... it's mainly community theatre and college. I've turned down a few chances to do professional ones because of timing and where I had to be to do them. I think though, now, if another one is offered I would take it no matter where it is going to be and I may audition for a few semi-pro ones coming up. Sometimes I don't even audition for shows I just get a call from a director I have worked with before and they say, "Hey, we couldn't find anyone for this role will you come do it?" They usually pay for my gas money 'cause I live about 45+ minutes from any of the good groups. I always feel like a "ringer" when I do that stuff though... lol. I haven't done anything recently though, not since 2003, so I am rusty. I am not much of a dancer... it's hard to be light on your feet when you are 6'2" and weigh 300+ pounds, but I do better than most people assume I can. :) Do you dance in the shows?
Yeah, well that's cool.
Well, I do some dancing, I took an advanced musical theater class and that helped, but I'm not amazing (and very unflexible!), but I try. At least you seem somewhats different. Its so hard to get roles when everyone who auditions is exactly like you, a hopeful teenage girl.
But I am excited for auditions this weekend.
